LiDAR has been used in engineering fields for over a decade, but LiDAR alone requires special software and training. The file size of LiDAR scans is large which makes it difficult to share. Orono Designs takes LiDAR services one step further and through a comprehensive workflow, converts the scans into one generic CAD model. Weather your engineers use 2d Autocad or 3D models, Orono Design will convert the scan to .dwg, .stp, or other generic cad formats. This allows customers to benefit from LiDAR technology without capitol investment or training costs.

Structural Engineering
Access Platforms, Mezzanines and walkways can be tricky to design when they are around or on top of equipment. Using LiDAR allows for an accurate design, done right the first time. This method also allows the customer to see what the end result will look like in their facility before fabrication begins. Orono Design works with engineers to provide certified, stamped drawings
Reverse engineering
Sometimes old equipment needs to be replaced. Whether there are no drawings or the OEM is out of business, Orono Design can scan, model and create shop drawings for fabrication
